Visual identity work we created for Hatchetation, a musical from the mind of writer, composer and performer Amy Jo Jackson. Hatchetation puts a contemporary spin on events that took place during the early 1900s Prohibition era, and playfully tells the story of the one and only Carry A. Nation, famous for destroying saloons with her hatchet.

We designed the visual identity for the musical, as well as marketing and promotional materials. The musical is an early 1900s story set in the modern world, so visual explorations centered around playing with that contrast. The color palette was a nod to the dusty saloons and towns of the time, while visuals and illustrations were created from lyrics taken from songs in the musical.
